Shanee Roe

Shanee Roe, born in New York in 1996, is an artist who studied fine arts and
animation, attending respected programs at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna
and Leipzig with mentors like Daniel Richter and Christoph Ruckhäberle.
Her paintings and drawings reference the history of painting from
Expressionism to New Objectivity.In her paintings and drawings, created in
various cities including Tel Aviv, Leipzig, Zeitz, and Užice, Serbia, Roe
meticulously explores interpersonal situations and forms of intimacy in urban
and peripheral environments. Her new works depict power relationships
ranging from blunt sexuality to intense compassion, while capturing forms of
human intimacy from the mundane to the festive.
